You may or may not have actually heard of a home microdermabrasion machine.  If you have then some of the information out there can be confusing.  For a start a lot of the web sites and home microdermabrasion machine reviews I’ve seen are lazy and incomplete to say the least, often they just churn out the same old rehashed manufacturers marketing releases.

Of course you can have it done at a spa or clinic if you like and then you will be treated by a ‘professional’.  They will just use a bigger version of the home microdermabrasion machines you see online.  But the point really is do you feel comfortable doing this and do you want to spend money every month on clinic and beautician fees every month?

Going back 5 years or so then this would probably our only option.  The spas and the like had a monopoly of the equipment.  But the times have changed drastically. Technology has advanced rapidly and now you can get some pretty good home microdermabrasion machines for reasonable prices. Certainly they pay you back very quickly when you compare them to piling up spa and clinic fees.

Well you have waited this long so I will give you an answer.  Okay a home microdermabrasion machine is just a set of equipment designed to allow you to carry out skin microdermabrasion in the comfort of your own home.  Simple really.
Yes I could have just said that in one sentence at the start.  But that wouldn’t have been much of an article for you would it?  I wanted to give you some background to understand the history and evolvement as well.

The best home microdermabrasion machine comes as a portable, convenient alternative to going to a clinic or spa.  It is compact, inexpensive and there is no waiting around.  I like use a microdermabrasion machine at home as I can do the full on pamper evening.  A hot relaxing bath with aromatic oils soaking into me and then sitting down with my favorite girly film (Happens to be Beaches at the moment) and a nice bottle of red wine, whilst I use the microdermabrasion machine.  Then it’s the full on moisturizing session and then onto my nails.  What a great way to relax I think

How Does An At Home Microdermabrasion Machine Work?

This is the latest in technology for home microdermabrasion treatment.  Diamonds are attached to a ‘wand’ which you then pass gently over your skin.  There is usually a suction facility as well to take away the skin cells you remove.  Perfect examples are the Timepeel Microdermabrasion Machine and the Nu Brilliance Diamond Microdermabrasion Machine.

2. Crystal Home Microdermabrasion Machine:

This works by firing or ‘blasting’ crystals at you skin, in what I have found to be a less controlled or sophisticated manner than a home diamond microdermabrasion machine.  They used to use aluminum oxide crystals, which have been shown to be toxic.  Now most such as the Crystalift Home Microdermabrasion System now use baking soda instead.

So there you have it really.  They are not complicated and the best at home microdermabrasion machine should be the one you feel most comfortable with after reading the reviews.
